REFRACTION (High Museum of Art, 2025)
“Let us lie on planes of ascension sans time, sans distance–where our bodies may split with every beat, crystalize and reflect the wise infinite hollow dilating eye of the universe.”
In this live performance, Brandon Sadler creates a monumental calligraphy work using his Single Word Character system in concert with violinist Taylor Tookes. The piece focuses on the interplay of light, sound, and movement in a single collaborative moment as Sadler’s brush dances across a constructed plexiglass installation (36’x8’) and the resonance of Tookes violin vibrates throughout the Robinson Atrium of the High Museum of Art.
